
William Tracey wins VIBES Award
December 2008
The William Tracey Group was delighted to win VIBES (Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland) Best Service award in December 2008. The awards run by SEPA recognise businesses that employ environmental best practise in their daily activities.

Michael Russell MSP, Minister for Environment, and Scottish Environment Protection Agency Chairman, David Sigsworth presented the awards at the capitals Sheraton Grand Hotel.
Minister for Environment, Michael Russell commented: “Environmentally friendly businesses, such as those recognised by the VIBES awards, have seized the opportunity to turn environmental commitment into action to deliver economic success. VIBES is about rewarding excellence and sharing the lessons learnt from good practice in Scottish business.

- 80% of hazardous waste received at our main Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility is recycled or recovered.
- We were the first company in Scotland to achieve PAS 100 accreditation for compost material.
- 40% of staff employed in the management of hazardous waste are qualified, industrial chemists.
- Our laboratory processes on average 600 samples of hazardous waste per month.
