"Galliford Morgan Joint Venture, an in-house delivery partner within Scottish Water Solutions, was tasked with removing quantities of wet, organic-laden grit from settlement channels in Shieldhall STW. Faced with limited options, punitive wet disposal costs and the vagaries of a Scottish summer they were pleased to be offered the use of a self-contained Mobile Treatment Plant. This equipment quickly and effectively separated and returned water and organics for treatment leaving greatly reduced quantities of clean, inert grit suitable for dry disposal routes. With landfill taxes destined to soar, solutions such as the Mobile Treatment Plant are sure to become the rule rather than the exception."
